Rheumatologists
These specialists focus on musculoskeletal and systemic autoimmune problems. They treat diseases such as lupus and various types of arthritis. Rheumatologists specialize in arthritis and other diseases in your joints, muscles, bones, and tendons. Patients might see them for osteoporosis (weak bones), back pain, gout, tendinitis from sports or repetitive injuries, and fibromyalgia.
Example
This specialty has a tremendous need for the investigation of AATD and the circulating levels of AAT in their patients. Hopefully, this specialty group of physicians will have a new standard of practice for this group to follow for the patients they are associated with in their medical practice.
